INS will include the burden statement on this information collection by August 1, 2002. INS will ensure that all information collection requests will contain both the OMB number and burden statement upon dissemination to the public for use. INS will notify OMB on August 1, 2002 verifying that the burden statement has been included in this information collection. INS will publish a notice in the Fedeal Register by July 5, 2002 stating: (1) the name of this information collection, (2) the OMB number associated with this information collection, (3) the burden associated with this information collection, (4) where individuals may send comments or suggestions regarding this information collection (5) the date on which items (2) through (4) will be posted on SEVIS (August 1, 2002). INS will include the OMB number on this information collection by July 1, 2002.

Abstract:
SEVIS will be used by institutions and sponsors to provide notifications, reports, updates and data required by regulations on the institutions and program, as well as on student and exchange visitors. Additionally, INS and DOS will use SEVIS to adjudicate benefits and services, track student and exchange visitor data, and to monitor institution and program sponsor compliance with current regulations.
