The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Application is subject to the Government Paperwork Elimination Act. OMB approves this request for clearance for a period of a year. In its next request for OMB approval, NIST should state how it has complied with the Government Paperwork Elimination Act, which requires agencies to provide an electronic option for the public to use to provide required data by October 2003.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
