Abstract:
Consular officers will use the DS-158 in conjunction with the existing DS-156 (Nonimmigrant Visa Application) to collect information required prior to issuance of visas to students seeking to study at U.S. institutions. The form will also be used by consular officers to determine efficiently the eligibility and classification of aliens seeking nonimmigrant visas to the United States.
