Terms of Clearance:
Approved for 18 months consistent with clarifications in FDA memos of 10-30 and 11-4. Consistent with 11-4 memo, FDA will submit individual focus groups covered by this clearance for OMB review and OMB will respond with clearance or questions within 10 working days. OMB and FDA will jointly evaluate the success of this generic clearance upon resubmission in 18 months.

Abstract:
Focus groups gauge public opinion and use public input to drive the development of policies, programs and services and the allocation of resources. This information will be used to develop programmatic proposals, and as such compliments other important research findings to develop these proposals. Focus groups do provide an important role in gathering information because they allow for a more in-depty understanding of consumer's attitudes beliefs, motivations, and feelings than do quantitative studies. Also, information from these focus groups will be used to develop policy & redirect resources, when necessary, to our constitutents

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
