Abstract:
The Ports and Waterways Safety Act authorize the CG to require movement and cargo status reports from any vessel in the U.S. Information is required to enhance maritime security, control vessel traffic, develop contingency plans and enforce regulations Barge owners or operators may apply for a deviation from the report requirements.
