Abstract:
Public Law requires the Secretary of the Interior to maintain and expand the National Register of Historic Places. The Registra- tion form documents properties for listing and demostrates they meet the established criteria. The documentation assists evalua- ting, preserving, and protecting properties. The law also re- quires federal agencies to request determinatiions of eligibility under their jurisdiction or affected by their programs.
