Abstract:
EIA-846 will be used to collect data on energy consumption and related subjects for the manufacturing sector of the US economy. In addition to being used for the National Energy Modeling System, the MECS is used to augment a data base on the manufacturing sector. Respondents are manufacturing establishments.

The burden increase is due to the fact that it is a reinstatement. This ICR will be done quadrenially, and since only three-year extensions are given, the ICR was discontinued and is now being reinstated.
