Short Statement: The FR 3036 is the U.S. part of a global data collection that is conducted by central banks every three years. The burden decreased since the last survey due to (1) a reduction in the panel size due to continued consolidation in the market and (2) the elimination of the abbreviated Derivatives Outstanding survey for FR 2436 (OMB No. 7100-0286)reporters since data on credit derivatives are now submitted on the FR 2436. Please note that none of the burden change is associated with a PRA violation (ROCIS will not allow us to change these fields). This survey is only done once every three years, so it rolled off the inventory in 2004. Now the Federal Reserve is proposing to reinstate a revised version of the survey for 2007.
