Abstract:
Title 49 USC Sections 44702 and 44703 authorize the issuance of airman certificates. FAR part 65 prescribes requirements for mechanics, repairmen, parachite riggers, and inspection authorizations. The information collected shows applicant eligibility for certification.

The decrease in the burden hour (from 33,028 to 31,838) and the cost burden ($395,822 to $271,755) is due to changing the renewal of inspection authorizations to 2 years and the decreased numbers of airman certificates processed (FAA Forms 8610-1 and 8610-2).
