Abstract:
On August 15, 2007, the Commission adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Amendment of Service and Eligibility Rules for FM Broadcast Translator Stations, MB Docket 07-172, FCC 07-144. The proposed rule changes would allow AM stations to use FM translator stations to rebroadcast the Am signal locally. Revisions will be made to the FCC Form 303-S if the proposed rules are adopted. The FCC Form 303-S is used in applying for renewal of license for AM, FM, or TV broadcast station and FM translator, TV translator or Low Power TV, and Low Power FM broadcast stations. The data is used by FCC staff to assure that necessary forms connected with renewal have been filed and that licensee continues to meet basic statutory requirements to remain a licensee. The local public notice informs the public that the station has filed for license renewal.
