Short Statement: The Commission has adjusted the total number of respondents/responses, the hourly burden and annual costs based on a re-evaluation of the process for determining these various burden estimates. Even though the number of applications has tripled since the last submission to OMB in 2004 (more applications are being filed electronically), many more evaluations ae being submited for portable and mobile devices, thus accounting for the increase in responses and a decrease in annual hours. The increase in cost is also due to a significant increase in the number of responses and thus the annual cost has increased as well.
