Abstract:
29 CFR part 1926, subpart U and its collections of information provide protection to employees who work with and around blasting operations. In addition, inventories of explosives must be maintained to assure employer and blaster accountability for explosives.

Previously the burden hours for five jobsites to disclose the alternative plan, developed when displaying warning signs against the use of mobile transmitters in blasting areas are infeasible, totaled .4 hours and was rounded to zero hours. To account for some burden for disclosing the plan the agency rounded up to one hour.
