Abstract:
This package is seeking OMB clearance for: 1) the expiration of the current collection, which collect States performance and other information related to the reporting requirements of the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, and 2) to be in compliance with the OMB and Departmental requirement on race/ethnicity reporting.

A one time increase in burden is anticipated, to implement OMB's published Revisions to the Standards for the Classifications of Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity . By July 1, 2010, Department of Education programs are required to collect and report race/ethnicity data differently. The 20 hour increase allows States to develop and implement this requirement effectively.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
