Terms of Clearance:
OMB applauds the Department of State's revisions in response to public comment and feedback. OMB also appreciates the Department of State's commitment to converting this collection to an electronically submitted collection by incorporating it into SEVIS by 2010. The Department of State is given the full three year clearance in order to devote resources to this conversion. If the Department of State has not converted this collection to an electronic system by the time this collection is resubmitted for OMB approval in 2012, it will receive an abbreviated clearance due to a lack of GPEA compliance.

Abstract:
The Exchange Visitor Program Training/Internship Placement Plan (DS-7002) is used by United States Government Agencies, academic institutions, and public and private organizations to document training activities that will be provided for an exchange participant entering the U.S. to participate in a training or internship program as described in 22 CFR 62.22.

Due to public comments the Department has incorporated several changes to the participant information and site of activity sections on the form. It was also suggested that the burden hour was not sufficient. Based on the different lengths and complexity of programs, the Department has determined that the burden hour should be increased to two hours.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
