Abstract:
The regulations establish the standards to participate in the student financial assistance programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, (HEA) as amended, (Title IV, HEA programs). The proposed regulations assure the Secretary that the integrity of the program is protected from fraud and misuse of program funds. These proposed regulations modify the program participation agreement, require institutions to provide new types of disclosures to prospective and enrolled students, add new campus security and crime statistic requirements, and provide for electronic appeals of institutional cohort default rates.The regulations establish the standards to participate in the student financial assistance programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, (HEA) as amended, (Title IV, HEA programs).
