Abstract:
Form 4970 is used by a beneficiary of a domestic or foreign trust to compute the tax adjustment attributable to an accumulation distribution. The form is used to verify whether the correct tax has been paid on the accumulation distribution.

Form 4970 is used by a beneficiary of a domestic or foreign trust to compute the tax adjustment attributable to an accumulation distribution. There is no change in the form previously approved by OMB. However, this request reflects a change in burden resulting from a correction to the method previously used in computing the burden. The correction has resulted in a total burden increase of 10,700 hours.
