Abstract:
This Information Collection Request (ICR) renewal is being submitted for the NSPS for Secondary Lead Smelters (40 CFR Part 60, Subpart L). This standard applies to owners and operators of secondary lead smelters facilities. The provisions of this subpart applies to pot furnaces of more than 250 kg (550 lb)charging capacity, blast (cupola) furnaces and reverberatory furnaces which includes any combinations of: stationary, rotating, rocking and tilting. Owners and operators of secondary lead smelters subject to NSPS must notify EPA of construction, reconstruction, anticipated and actual startup dates, and results of performance tests. Records of performance test results, shutdowns, and malfunctions must be maintained. The reporting requirements listed in the General Provisions (40 CFR Part 60, Subpart L), secondary lead smelters are required to meet specific requirements cited in this rule, to determine if compliance has been achieved.
