Short Statement: An internal NRC audit in 2006 identified findings and recommended corrective actions to be taken for the reporting requirements for 10 CFR Part 25. As a result of this audit new procedures and elements were implemented and a follow up audit was performed in 2008 which concluded that actions and recommendations suggested in the 2006 audit had been effectively implemented. After careful review of the data generated by these internal NRC audits, it was discovered that the burden collected during the current burden period contains burden from both non-federal and federal respondents. Therefore, as a result the inclusion of federal respondents in the renewal package, the projected burden for the next three year renewal period is expected to decrease. The overall burden is expected to decrease by 52 hours, from 417 to 365 because the newly implemented procedures now accurately captures the numbers of requests granted for access authorization for non-federal respondents which may require access to classified information in accordance with Section 25.23.
