Abstract:
The data collected on the BE-11 survey provide a variety of measures of the overall operations of U.S. parent companies and their foreign affiliates. The data are needed to measure the size and economic significance of U.S. direct investment abroad, measure changes in such investment and assess it's impact on the U.S. and foreign economics.

Short Statement:
The change of +30,950 burden hours consists of +39,328 hours attributable to an adjustment, which is offset by -8,378 hours attributable to a program change. The decreases in respondent burden accounted for by changes in reporting criteria are more than offset by increases in burden associated with growth in the number and average size of U.S. parent companies and foreign affiliates since the survey was last cleared.
