Short Statement:
This justification requests an increase in burden hours for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Forms: Applications, Periodic Reporting, and Notices collection due to reporting requirements stipulated by the Office of Management and Budget Memorandum M-10-29: Identifying and Documenting Costs of Government Activities Related to the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. We anticipate an increase of 4,600 burden hours for the additional reporting. The information will be collected from respondents through any of the following mechanisms: face-to-face interviews, telephone interviews, initial and/or recertification applications. Each respondent will spend an additional 15 seconds responding to the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill reporting. This additional response time will increase the total number of burden hours for this collection (OMB# 0584-0064; expiration date 3/31/2013) from 24,893,623 burden hours to 24,898,223 burden hours.
