Abstract:
The Global Intellectual Property Academy (GIPA) was established in 2006 to offer training programs on enforcement of intellectual property rights, patents, trademarks, and copyrights. These training programs are designed to meet the specific needs of foreign government officials concerning the various intellectual property topics. These training programs are instrumental in the USPTO achieving its objectives of halting intellectual property theft and advancing intellectual property right policies. Therefore, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is requesting approval to conduct voluntary customer satisfaction surveys to obtain feedback from the participants of GIPA's training programs. This new information collection contains three new voluntary customer satisfaction surveys: pre-program, post-program, and alumni.

Short Statement:
The USPTO is proposing to add this new information collection containing voluntary customer satisfaction surveys (pre-program, post-program, and alumni) to the agency's information collection inventory. The USPTO wishes to use these surveys to obtain feedback from participants in the GIPA training programs before, during, and after the programs. The USPTO estimates that the surveys will take 15 minutes (0.25 hours) to complete and that 1,500 surveys will be submitted per year, for a yearly total of 375 hours. The USPTO estimates that the total respondent hour cost burden will be $61,125 per year. This collection does not impose any annual (non-hour) costs on the respondent. Therefore, the USPTO estimates that 1,500 responses and 375 burden hours will be added to the agency's overall information collection burden per year as a result of this new collection.
