Abstract:
Under Title 28, Section 534, U.S. Code, the Department of Justice, would request Supplementary Homicide data from law enforcement agencies in order to acquire, collect, classify, and preserve national data on criminal offenses as part of the Uniform Crime Reports and publication, Crime in the United States.

Short Statement:
There is no increase of burden on the individual respondents; however, the overall annual burden hours have increased due to the increase in the number of participating agencies. This increase is attributable to the Federal Recovery Act. Due to agencies receiving surmountable grant monies from this recently passed Act UCR participation has increased tremendously. In order for law enforcement agencies to receive the grants they must fully participate in the UCR Program.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
