Abstract:
Pursuant to Section 64.703(a), operator services providers (OSPs) are required to disclose, audibly and distinctly to the consumer, at no charge and before connecting any interstate call, how to obtain rate quotations, including any applicable surcharges. Section 64.709 codifies the requirements of OSPs to file informational tariffs with the Commission. Section 64.710 requires providers of interstate operator services to inmates at correctional institutions to identify themselves, audibly and distinctly, to the party to be billed, among other things.

Short Statement:
The Commission has re-evaluated the assessment of the burdens for this information collection and determined there has been: (a) an increase in the number of annual respondents of +788 respondents, from 630 respondents to 1,418 respondents, and an increase in annual hours of +7,661 hours, from 197,362 hours to 205,023 due to the utilization of a more precise method of calculating the fraction of hours. With this submission, the Commission really examined and evaluated the numbers that were accounted for in this supporting statement. Therefore, the Commission used more concrete and precise numbers based on the Commission's September 2010 Trends in Telephone Report. The increase in the annual burden hours is due to the increase in the number of annual respondents to this information collection. There are no program changes.
