Abstract:
47 CFR Part 4 of FCC rules will require outage reporting requirements to include all communications providers (cable, satellite, and wireless providers). An initial and final report is required to be filed for each outage. The reports will enable the Commission to monitor developments affecting homeland security, public health or safety, and the economic well being of the Nation in view of the increasing importance of non-wireline communications in the Nation's communications networks and critical infrastructure. The Commission is requesting this non-substantive change request to add two simple fields to the NORS Notification and NORS Initial Report pages. There is no change in the Commission's burden or cost for this collection.

Short Statement:
The Commission is reporting 4,680 fewer respondents and an increase in the number of responses. The estimated number of respondents/responses fluctuates because of the type of event to be reported and the location where it occurred. Therefore, the Commission is reporting a 10,100 total annual hour increase in burden (adjustment). This is due to a re-calculation of our previous burden estimates.
Annual Cost to Federal Government:
$485,992
