Abstract:
This revision is requested in coordination with revisions to 25 CFR 162, which add certain information collection requirements to the leasing process. Existing information collection requirements are unchanged, but section numbers are updated. Respondents are Native American Tribes or individuals who request residential and business leases on trust and restricted land. No specific form is used but respondents supply information & data so that the Secretary may make an evaluation & determination in accordance with established Federal factors, rules, and policies.

Short Statement:
This increase in burden is due to new regulatory provisions establishing processes for requesting and waiving fair market rental requirements and valuation requirements, requiring Indian landowners to notify BIA if they are in negotiations with a holdover tenant, and requirements for permits to be filed at BIA.
