As shown by the corrections to this collection, DEA shall continue to update supporting statements for information collection requests associated with rulemakings. DEA shall continue to upload the necessary SORN for this collection and include detailed explanations of burden changes. Prior to any further approval of this information collection, DEA shall either provide OMB with a joint Information Collection Request/Privacy Impact Assessment or shall post a separate Privacy Impact Assessment addressing systems that support this information collection. Additionally, for the next submission of this package, in the supporting statement DEA shall more clearly explain the requirements of 225B and explain its baseline respondent calculation in Q13.

Abstract:
The Controlled Substances Act requires all persons that manufacture, distribute, import, export, analytical laboratories, or conducts research with controlled substances to register with DEA. Registration provides a closed system of distribution to control the flow of controlled substances through the distribution chain.
