Terms of Clearance:
Prior to any further approval of this information collection, DEA shall either provide OMB with a joint Information Collection Request/Privacy Impact Assessment or shall post a separate Privacy Impact Assessment addressing systems that support this information collection. OMB shall update DEA on its preferred methodology for cost burden calculation. As shown by the corrections to this package, for the next submission of this package DEA shall continue to estimate accurately the cost to the Federal Government, state the previous burden estimates, and submit updated instructions pages.

Abstract:
Practitioners who dispense narcotic drugs to individuals for maintenance or detoxification treatment must register with the DEA under the Narcotic Addict Treatment Act of 1974. Registration is needed for control measures and is used to prevent diversion.
