Short Statement: The FTC is requesting a total burden estimate of 126,827 hours, a slight upward adjustment of 10,037 hours. This slight increase is because there are more estimated retrofit installations now (approximately 2 million as opposed to 1.5 million in 2008) which is offset in part by lower new home sales (approximately 600,000 new home sales as opposed to 1.3 million new home sales in 2008). Each retrofit installation takes an average of 2 minutes each while each disclosure related to a new home sale takes approximately 30 seconds each.
