Short Statement:
Form 2290 is used to compute and report the tax imposed by section 4481 on the highway use of certain motor vehicles. The information is used to determine whether the taxpayer has paid the correct amount of tax. There are no changes in the estimated burden. However, changes were made to the manner in which the forms are reported to OMB. They have been separated out to specific ICs, related to each individual document used to collect the information.
