Abstract:
EPA is proposing amendments to the National Emission Standards for Chromium Emissions from Hard and Decorative Chromium Electroplating and Chromium Anodizing Tanks. The amendments would require affected facilities to meet more stringent emission limits or more stringent surface tension limits, depending on the compliance method selected by the facility. Some facilities would also be required to conduct performance tests and submit notifications. Potential respondents subject to the NESHAP include an estimated 1,454 existing facilities that perform chromium electroplating or chromium anodizing. There would be an estimated 545 annual responses attributable to this ICR. The burden estimates are associated with conducting performance tests and preparing and submitting notifications. No burden estimates are provided for new sources because no new facilities are expected to be affected sources during the next 3 years.
