Abstract:
On March 20, 2012, the Commission adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking ("NPRM"), Revision of the Commission's Program Access Rules, MB Docket No. 12-68, FCC 12-30. In the NPRM, the Commission seeks comment on (i) whether to retain, sunset, or relax the prohibition on exclusive contracts between cable operators and satellite-delivered, cable-affiliated programming vendors; and (ii) potential revisions to the program access rules to better address alleged violations, including potentially discriminatory volume discounts and uniform price increases.
