Short Statement: There was a decrease in the number of Citizen Corps Councils and CERT Programs since the 2009 OMB approval for this collection. Currently there are approximately 3,300 Councils and CERTs (with a growth rate of 100 per year for Councils and 300 per year for CERTs) that will update their information in the Citizen Corps Council registration. It is likely that a decrease in programs occurred due to program and staff turn-over and a decrease in available federal grant funding.
