Abstract:
The Foreign Trade Zones Act and Regulations require an application from a firm or organization that applies for foreign-trade zone )FTZ) status, for subzone status, or for expansion of an existing zone. Applications must contain detailed information on facilities, financing, operational plans, proposed manufacturing operations, need, and economic impact. The FTZ Board needs complete and accurate information because the Board is required to make public interest determinations on FTZ proposals.

Short Statement:
There was an overall net reduction in burden hours, which was achieved through the streamlining and simplification of the application process for the existing information collections, which resulted in shorter application forms. Even though several new applications were added in order to comply with changes in the Foreign-Trade Zone regualtions, the addition of the new applications did not increase the overall net burden associated with this information collection.
Annual Cost to Federal Government:
$388,415
