Abstract:
Recent amendments to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act require that the Marine Recreational Fisheries Statistics Survey (MRFSS) be upgraded and that future fishing surveys target anglers licensed or registered at the State or Federal level. Several pilot studies to test new survey methods have been completed. This new information collection will implement new methodologies for collecting recreational fishing effort data.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
