Abstract:
This form covers mine development, exploration, and production of various commodities. The data collected are critical for military and civilian planning and for policy decisions related to the commodities covered. These data are compiled into tables, which are published annually. Respondents are non-fuel mineral producers and exploration companies.

Short Statement:
We estimate that there will be 887 responses totaling 666 burden hours. This is a net increase of 168 responses and 127 burden hours from our previous request of 719 responses and 539 burden hours. The difference represents an adjustment based on our experience in administering this collection along with the types of respondent feedback, discussions, and interactions as described in our answer to item 8 above. We also created a separate IC for State, Local and Tribal Government respondents.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
