Short Statement: When Veterinary Services evaluated the burden for the 3-year renewal of 0218, they realized that the same information is also being collected in 0579-0265. IC 0579-0265 was started because it was tied to a proposed rule in 2005. This merger will reduce redundancy in reporting the same activities twice for the Importation of Swine Pork Products, and Swine Semen from the European Union. No burden was added by merging 0265 with 0218. The annual responses and burden hours that were accounted for in 0579-0265 are part of the same 7,504 annual responses and 7,504 burden hours requested for this renewal. There is a program change of -6 annual responses and -3 burden hours for the removal of VS Form 17-29. This form is completed by APHIS inspectors from information derived from the VS Form 12-129 so should not be counted as public burden. There is an adjusted decrease of -9 respondents, resulting in a decrease of -735 annual responses and -735 burden hours. This decrease is a result of fewer companies importing swine semen due to a downturn in the economy.
