Abstract:
The Data Item Descriptions (DIDS) in ASSIST, formally AMSDL, contain data requirements used in DoD contracts. This information is contained in DoD contracts for supplies, services, hardware, and software. The information collected from the public and DoD contractors is necessary for DoD to support the design, test, manufacture, training, operation and maintenance of procured items.

The 2010 IC did not include any costs in the Annual Cost Burden line, but according to the Supporting Statement that was submitted in 2010, the amount was $1,050,382,080. There will be an increase in the corresponding cost for 2013.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
