Abstract:
Under the authority of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation & Management Act (16 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.) and the American Fisheries Act (AFA), 16 U.S.C. 1851, National Marine Fisheries Service, Alaska region manages the groundfish fisheries in the exclusive economic zone off Alaska through fishery management plans. NMFS developed a management program for the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area pollock including a set of permits for AFA catcher/processors, AFA catcher vessels, AFA inshore processors, AFA motherships, and AFA cooperatives. This is an extension of that program. Program Changes: Application for Replacement Vessel and Application for Inshore Catcher Vessel Cooperative Permit: removal of notary requirement, resulting in decreases of $4 and $27. Adjustments : Some adjustments are due to increased postage to $ 0.45 per unit. Photocopy costs are reduced from 0.10 to 0.05 because cost per single copy has decreased.
