Short Statement: The decrease in the total annual hour burden is due to the decrease in the number of proxy solicitations filed annually as well as the decreased estimate of the average annual burden associated with the preparation and submission of proxy statements. The number of proxy solicitations filed annually decreased from 1,225 to 1,108 and the staff's estimate of the average annual hour burden decreased from 106.2 to 85. The increase in the total annual cost burden is due to the increased estimate of the costs associated with proxy solicitations, from $15,000 per solicitation to $30,000.
