Abstract:
The Commission adopted measures to streamline tariff filing requirements for local exchange carriers (LECs) pursuant to the Telecommunications Act of 1996. In order to achieve a streamlined and deregulatory environment for LEC tariff filings, incumbent LECs are required to file tariffs electronically. This NPRM in FCC 10-127, seeks to expand the electronic filing requirement to all other carriers. This non-substantive change request is being submitted to OMB to activate the final rule, FCC 11-92, Report and Order. The OMB approved the NPRM and the final rule requirements did not change as proposed.
