Abstract:
Sec. 18(d)(2) and 18(1) of the FDI Act requires nonmember banks to obtain FDIC consent to establish/operate a branch in a foreign country or to make foreign investments, and authorizes the FDIC to impose conditions and issue regulations.

The reflected burden change of -298 hours is an adjustment to correct a previous data entry error in which the estimated time per response was entered as 407 hours instead of 400 hours. There has been no actual change in burden as evidenced by comparing the Supporting Statements for the 2011 and 2014 renewals.
