The COPS Office has agreed to explore the viability of establishing societal-based outcome performance measures for these grants. In the next submission of this ICR, the COPS Office will either incorporate such measures; provide a concise report describing actions taken to explore this issue, a discussion of key remaining challenges, and a schedule for addressing such challenges; or provide a concise report explaining the reasons why it found such measures were not viable for these grants.

In FY2013 and previous years, approximately 3,800 agencies applied for our grant programs. Due to the addition of two new programs in FY2014, we are anticipating an increase in applications to approximately 5,000 applications total.
