Abstract:
This program would receive information from applicants, who would be requesting to participate in the program and certifying that they are educators with at least 3 years' experience and who 1) have taught in STEM related fields last year; 2) plan to teach in a STEM related field this upcoming year; and 3) are acknowledging their commitment to incorporate the learnings from the Teacher Summer Institute into their curriculum, where applicable, and cooperate with sharing lessons/outcomes with teachers and PTO.
Emergency Justfication:
The Obama Administration has announced this program and the USPTO is seeking to collect this information in June of 2014 with a program start date in August of 2014. The collection of information is needed prior to the expiration of the time period established by 5 C.F.R. 1320. Use of the normal clearance procedures is likely to prevent or disrupt the collection of the information and the start of the program.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
