Abstract:
The Federal Communications Commission (Commission) is seeking to obtain approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for an extension of a currently approved collection, with no change in burden estimates. On November 18, 2011, the Commission released a Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, which adopted rules to govern the Connect America Fund Mobility Fund. In adopting the rules, the Commission provided for one-time support to immediately accelerate deployment of networks for mobile broadband services in unreserved areas. The Commission will use the information collected to determine whether applicants are eligible to participate in an auction for Mobility Fund Phase I support.
