Abstract:
The National Park Service (NPS) received OMB approval on August 18, 2014 to conduct a pilot study of this survey. The pretest was conducted during November and December 2014. The primary goal was to assess whether the survey instrument and data collection process worked as expected. We are now requesting approval to use final version of the survey to conduct a full field study. Overall, the data from the pretest suggested that the survey instrument worked well. Several small editorial (layout or punctuation) changes were made based on the pretest responses. None of the edits impacted the core of the survey which were the valuation questions. We are now requesting approval for full a field study.
