Abstract:
A person owning or operating a natural gas pipeline facility is required to maintain records, make reports, and provide information to the Secretary of Transportation at the Secretary's request. Based on the proposed revisions in this rule, new Type A, Area 2 gas gathering pipeline operators will be new to these requirements.

Short Statement:
Based on the proposed revisions in this rule, PHMSA estimates that 100 new Type A, Area 2 gas gathering pipeline operators ~ (2200 Type A, Area 2 miles without prior regulation/22) will be new to these requirements. PHMSA estimates that it will take these 100 operators 6 hours to create and maintain records associated with Emergency Planning requirements. Therefore, PHMSA expects to add 100 responses and 600 hours to this information collection as a result of the provisions in the proposed rule.
