Abstract:
The standard requires employers to monitor worker exposure, to provide medical surveillance, and maintain accurate records of worker exposure to benzene. These records will be used by employers, workers, physicians and the Government to ensure that workers are not harmed by exposure to benzene in the workplace.

The Agency is requesting an adjustment increase of 18,726 burden hours (from 126,183 hours to 144,909 hours). The adjustment increase resulted from an increase in the percentage of workers receiving medical examinations. There was a $1,826,862 increase in the cost under Item 13 from $8,984,612 to $10,811,474 as a result of an increase in the number of workers receiving medical examinations and the cost of a medical examination.
