Approved consistent with the statement in the ICR that states "The information collected through this generic Information Collection Request will not be used to make generalizable statements about the population of interest or to inform public policy; however, methodological findings may be reported." As with OMB number 0920-0222, for each individual collection, CDC will submit to OMB a mini-supporting statement that includes the elements of Parts A and B that are specific to the GenIC. OMB will strive to provide feedback on the individual collections within ten working days, whenever possible. Standard remuneration of respondents for cognitive testing is $40.00.. Higher remunerations may be requested with justification for difficult recruitment, focus groups, etc.

Abstract:
The NCHS, CDC, conducts the National Health Care Surveys, a family of nationally representative surveys of encounters and health care providers in inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings. This information collection request (ICR) is for the extension of a generic clearance to conduct developmental studies to improve this family of surveys.
