Short Statement: The program adjustment decrease of 58,667 annual burden hours [908,333 proposed annual burden hours – 967,000 currently approved annual burden hours] is due to a decrease in the estimated number of motor carriers requiring HM safety permits. This is a result of a new estimate. This information collection requires motor carriers to provide estimates of their anticipated annual shipments of hazardous materials (HM), complete application forms, provide shipment estimates, and communication records to the FMSCA.
