Abstract:
REEport replaces the Customer Research Information System (CRIS) forms and fully implements the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR). Out of an initiative of the Research Business Models (RBM) Subcommittee of the Committee on Science (CoS), a committee of the National Science and Technology Council (committee), came the RPPR. The RPPR is a new uniform format for reporting performance progress on Federally-funded research projects. Upon implementation, the RPPR will be used by agencies that support research and research-related activities for use in submission of interim progress reports. It is intended to replace other interim performance reporting formats currently in use by agencies. NIFA based REEport's Progress fromat on RPPR.

Short Statement:
There is a minor overall increase in the total annual burden as a result of: 1) recalculating the number of forms received and 2) requiring a small additional percentage of time for respondents to collect and report on the additional data elements described in this request for revision. The adjustment on recalculating the number of forms does not correlate directly to any specific program changes but simply represents an adjustment in the volume of the various transactions NIFA has received based on the most recent completed fiscal year. The estimate of burden on the additional percentage of time for the added data elements was extrapolated from the already approved burden estimates of other, similar data fields that are already a part of the approved REEPORT information collection.
